ShivAdya’s location surrounded by Apple Orchards & fields makes it an apt place to explore its surroundings. This hike can be enjoyed during your stay at ShivAdya and depending on your interest it can be done from early morning till about evening. We would start the walk form the resort and pass through Apple Orchard and following the orchard trails and fields. Depending on season of the year we can view orchards & fields in different shades and find villagers engaged in different orchard & field activities. This walk can be approximately of 60 – 90 minutes and can form a part of your morning walks too.

Soel is a small, beautiful & hidden settlement in PirPanjal Mountains near village Karjan. From ShivAdya, it takes 3 kms/15 Min by car to reach Soel village and then around 2.5 kms of hike. Walk is easy to moderate, entirely covered by Himalayan jungle, jungle trail with little ups & downs. This walk is suggested to 12 to 65 years of age group. From Soel we walk to Haripur stream, which is beautifully located amidst forest, and then follow a forest trail till Dashal village. At Dashal village we walk across many traditional Kath Koni houses, view a Gharat (watermill) and also visit a 11th century Shiva temple.

ShivAdya is located in midst of Karjan village at 1830 m which is among one of largest villages of Kullu valley. Karjan is beautifully located on the base of a mountain with thick Devdar forest and apple orchards & rice fields on the other side. This walk would take you on a walk through the village wherein you would get to meet the villagers, interact with them, see some wonderful old traditional Kath Kauni houses, a temple dedicated to the village Goddess Docha Mocha. This walk can be approximately of 60 – 90 minutes.

Sajla village at a distance of 2 kms from ShivAdya is famous in the region for the Vishnu temple which also holds many religious functions from time to time. Sajla waterfall is further walk of about 20-30 minutes from here, through thick pine forest. We spend sometime gazing the beauty of the fall and walk back to resort passing through orchards and fields. This hike can be approximately of 2 - 3 hrs

Mere sight of an apple tree laden with red & juicy fruits is an invitation for you to explore an orchard and enjoy a picnic lunch sharing some priceless moments with your family or friends OR Viewing a fast flowing Himalayan stream, listening to the music of water gurgling & hurtling down is an experience that leaves one appreciating mother nature. We at ShivAdya provide you with an opportunity to enjoy one such sight and organize a picnic lunch for you at the Himalayan Stream OR Devdar is known as the Tree of Gods, is the most gracious coniferous tree found in abundance around ShivAdya. A very thick forest forms the background of Karjan village. An enjoyable picnic lunch among the towering Devdar forest is an experience you will not forget for many years to come.

While you stay at ShivAdya we have mountain bikes (Bicycle) available here for you to paddle around ranging from small rides till Haripur village to longer ones till Naggar village. A special biking trip can also be organized for you along with back up vehicle to places like Jana, Naggar or Bijli Mahadev. Bike rides can be combined with night camping also making it an adventurous excursion.

Natti is traditional dance form of Kullu and is performed by gents & ladies, who dance in circles in slow & fast rhythms. The dancing troupe is accompanied with local musicians’ playing local songs on shehnai and drums. On special request a natti can be organized at ShivAdya.
